San Diego - Day 2 - Genesis Open+

As we mentioned, we skipped Los Angeles due to the recent fires, and so did the PGA.  They moved the LA Genesis Open to Torre Pines just north of San Diego and La Jolla.

We stayed on Eastern time and got up early.  We drove up past the golf course and into Del Mar. There we found a great place for breakfast called Robert Walker's Pancake House. Then we parked there and took a Lyft to the course.

As you enter the course, you have to cross the 18th fairway to get to the front nine. Since it was early and no one was on the 18th yet, Bob stopped and took a photo opp.  Here he is hitting an imaginary shot into the 18th at Torre Pines!

As we drifted down #1 and #2, we heard a small roar from the direction of #3 ( a par 3).  Bob said to Debbie, “I bet somebody just got a hole-in-one”. Sure enough once we got there, they told us that Kegan Bradley had done just that.  The pin was in the perfect position for that, and we saw several close shots while we watched at #3. Sahith Theegala nearly made another one while we watched!   (Crowd groans)

We then wandered over toward the back nine and watched a little action on #8 and #16.

After we left, we took another Lyft back to our car. Two lift rides were cheaper than the parking for that event.  Then we drove down to La Jolla Shores and had lunch and ice cream in La Jolla.

Then we just kept driving down the coast line until we crossed Mission Bay back to our hotel.
