Wow! It’s been 10 years since we added to this blog. I have a few others I plan to add long after the fact, but this is our most recent adventure.
We just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary with a trip to San Diego, California!
Our original plans were to spend the first weekend in LA and then the rest in San Diego, but the fires in LA deterred us. So, instead of changing flights, we flew into LA (actually Ontario near Anaheim), and spent one night there. From there we took the Amtrak train to San Diego!
We got on at Fullerton, CA., rode down past Anaheim stadium, home of the LA Angels and then...
the train stopped at San Juan Capistrano where they have a Virtual Railcam. Bob got out and waved to the camera and Maria, who was watching from home, snapped a picture of him!
Eventually the train runs down coast, we were got to see nice views of the Pacific Ocean.
We got into Old Town station of San Diego and got a Lyft to the car rental. For our anniversary, Bob surprised Debbie – this was our ride for the week!
Then we drove around a little exploring downtown, Coronado Island and Balboa Park and found lunch (actually brunch) at Snooze. Sarah introduced us to Snooze in Dallas. After checking into our hotel, we went to Mass at St. Vincent de Paul where the lady to the left of the Ambo was signing the Mass.
After Mass we drove out to Sunset Cliffs and caught a sunset!
