We started the day at Fig Tree Café, a different breakfast restaurant at Liberty Station. Took this picture of the portico around the old barracks.
Then we stopped to snap some pictures of the bay.

Our Whale watch was on the “Marietta” – not named for the town Bob grew up in.
We heard that this Coast Guard ship had a successful drug bust just before we got to San Diego.
That’s Point Loma behind Debbie.
Didn’t get a very good picture of the humpback’s fluke.
But we saw lots and lots of dolphins.

The tour of the U.S.S. Midway was fascinating. If you go and are really interested in this, expect to spend a full day touring this. At the end of our tour, we listened to a great presentation on the catapult.
First, we watched a video about the battle of Midway, the namesake of this ship. This ship was build in 1945. Then, we took a tour of the area off the hanger deck that include briefing rooms, Combat Information Center, general quarters, quarters for the brass and more. Here are some of the pictures.

That evening we decided to try Mexican and found La Hadas in the Gaslamp District for some fajitas and maragaritas.
