We started the morning on the beach. Bob found that the condo had a boogie board. He tried to ride some waves. He also made sure there were no cameras. 'nough said. We also got to see the Fourth of July Parade! We collected lots of beads (like New Orleans) and a couple frisbees.
We had lunch and dinner at Oma's again -- Lunch as Oma's, Dinner was the left overs. This time we tried the other fare -- spaghetti, fettucini, chicken marsala and a calzone.
In the afternoon, we celebrated the Fourth with a tour of the DeSota National Monument. Henando de Sota was a explorer in the 1500s who did a lot of exploring of the southeast area of the U.S.

We also drove over to Pirate City to see the place where the Pirates hold their Spring Training camp. Debbie noticed that some of the floors seemed to have apartements. They probably do. The Pirates moved to Bradenton in the fifties or sixties when they couldn't find a place where all their players - white and black - could stay in the same place.
On the way home we saw this turtle trying to cross the road. Bob stoppped at the corner and flashed lights at oncoming cars to make sure they missed it. Everyone did and the turtle made it across.
The fireworks on the Fourth were okay. The fireworks here at Brandenton Beach were on the night of the 3rd and they were fabulous. They were launched from a barge in the Gulf straight out ahead of the beach across from our condo!
