The Fourth of July

Plans Change.  Came to Pittsburgh to catch a Pirates game.  However, it sold out before I could buy tickets... well at least at a price I could afford.  So Plan B.

First the Phipps Conservatory (like the Krohn Conservatory in Cinci)...Aunt Judy has hooked the girls on taking pictures of flowers... So this should be fun.

After Phipps, we needed to eat lunch.  We ended up on Mt. Washington to eat lunch.

Then, we were going to take a Duck Boat cruise of Pittsburgh, but they had to close early because of the fireworks barge.... plans change.  So, we headed back to the hotel.... checked movie times, Sarah went swimming, and then we went to see "Cars 2". Then we had dinner at Primanti Brothers ... next door to our hotel.  Didn't the sandwich with fries on it... but we had excellent pizza.

Then Bob found a park called "Riverview Park" on the North Side of Pittsburgh.  We thought it might be a good place to watch fireworks that wasn't too loud.  Excellent choice!!! Not crowded, but still a great view a dahntahn.... We could even read the time on the old Alcoa sign on Mount Washington.
