I - 35

Bob and Debbie were up early and took a morning walk around Riverwalk.

Then we left and drove up I-35 thru Austin, New Braunfels, Waco... and Fort Worth.

There was a cool rest stop on I35 where the restrooms look like silo and the other building looked like a barn!

We drove thru Fort Worth and then we hung a right on I-30 and headed for Dallas.  The only stop on this visit was the JFK Museum at Dealey Plaza.  We toured the sixth floor of the Texas School Book Repository.

The corner from where the shooter took his shots is fairly in tact. They did re-create the boxes to be the way they were.  They also had the other corner where he hid the rifle before he went down the steps.  The rest of the floor was full of displays which told the story.

It was quite moving to look out the window with about the same view of the road that the shooter did.

President Kennedy's care was about where that white car is.

This is where the care came before taking the turn.

Then we walked down Elm Street to get a close up view of the road where he was shot and looked at the grassy knoll.

 

We finished the day with dinner at the Black-eyed Pea (which Bob hasn't been to since the 80's) and dessert at the "Stop Sign of Texas"  (as they advertise at BOA), DQ.
