The Memorial

Memorial Day

Well, it was more like the week after Memorial Day, but Debbie and Bob got away for a short trip to Dublin for the Memorial tournament.  We went for two days - Wednesday and Thursday.  Wednesday we got to see the Pro-Am with about 20 of the top player playing that.  Jack used to play in that, but he didn't this year.  Then We saw round 1 of the tournament. Like most years (except last year when we went to the final round), we missed the seeing the winner.  Each year, we have just missed them or they walked past us, but we didn't see them play. So it was this year with Hideki Matsuyama.

After the Memorial, we drove to Marietta to have lunch as DaVinci's put some flowers on Bob's parents grave and tour around Marietta.  The trees are so full in Marietta again that you can drive down some street in an umbrella of leaves.  We stayed at the Lafayette Hotel.  It's the first time we have ever done that. We had dinner at the Levi House right on the Ohio River.  Just as we finished and walked a large river barge pushed up the river.

Marietta has put in a new walk/bike path along the Ohio that is really nice.

It was a short trip, but it was a nice start to Summer.
