Here starts the 2012 vacation. Our first intended destination is North Royalton, Ohio to visit Bernie and Janet. First, the trip to Cleveland was eventful.
We stopped to pick up Sarah from Laureate at U.D. There was this little tow-head about 2 years old - if that. She saw Bob leaning against the wall. So she leaned against the wall. He folded his arms, so she folded her arms. He changed his posture, she changed her posture. She sat down on the floor, so did Bob. She was just adorable.
Then we stopped for a PIT stop in Hillard, and there was a Chicken Basket (sorry, that's what Bob's Mom called Cracker Barrel). While we were there, we saw dark clouds coming in from the west. We checked our phones for radar.... Sure enough, a large storm was brewing behind us. Well, we had dinner and sat it out. Then we got back on the road after a real PIT stop (which for any new readers stands for Panera Ice Tea) and drove over the Columbus rail yard and got back to I-270. Bob heard about trouble on I-71 North on the radio, but we couldn't figure out a way around it. So, we drove stop-and-go for about 4-6 miles on I-71 North until the rubber necking was done. ( A truck blew over in the storm on the South-bound lanes). The traffic in the other direction was backed up 10 miles and the wreckers were just getting to the scene.
We finally arrived about 8:30 and had a nice evening with B & J and Aspen (woof!).
