The Mall of America

Well, we had to see it.  Yes, we went to the Mall of America.  The girls bought a couple of books and Debbie and Maria found some things at Christopher & Banks (the hometown one closed.)  No one rode the roller coasters or the water-ride, but it was fun to see. 

Bob was most interested in the Red Chair. The Red Chair is a chair from old Metropolitan Stadium that Harmon Killebrew hit with the longest Home Run in Met Stadium history. 

Also we hit the Nestle's Toll house store....hmmm, cookies!

We had lunch at a place recommended by our friends, Angie and Doug.  It is called the Nook and it has been on Diners and Dives.  The burgers were very good.

We self-toured the other cathedral in the other city.  St. Paul's Cathedral in St. Paul.  We also drove past the University of Minnesota and the Mariucci Center (yes, another hockey school).

Maria liked the statues of the four writers of the Gospels

We were in need of an quiet evening, so Anne suggested the girls go swimming.  So, Bob took off and walked (only a mile) to the Twins-Royals game. It will be nice to see the All-Star game in a place where I know what it looks like. Royals won 6-1.

I moved around during the game, but for most of the game  I sat in the upper deck behind the plate.
