Summer Vacation

We left on vacation on Friday right after Sarah finished a summer program she was in.  We stopped for a night and headed to Maryland on Saturday morning. We arrived in St. Mary's county, Maryland around noon on Saturday.  After lunch with Bob's sister, Ellen, we went to where Ellen works  - Historic St. Mary's City  -  the site of the fourth permanent settlement in British North America.  They were having their Mid-Summer Faire. We saw the Maryland Dove, a replica of one of the boats they brought over, learned how to make fire with flint and steel and saw the trial of John Salter who was accused of pig stealing and other things.  Bob loved to the drum they used during the musket and pike drill.
